RESEARCH AREAS

The research conducted at IPB is organized within laboratories and research groups. Two groups of laboratories are accredited as national centers of excellence [1, 2], while four are recognized as EU centers of excellence [3, 4, 5, 6]. Two laboratories within the IPB are active participants within Serbia’s CERN collaborations [7, 9]. One laboratory within the IPB has active participants within collaboration at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory [8].

Research is conducted in the following areas (organized according to PACS classification):

GENERAL PHYSICS

ELEMENTARY PARTICLES AND FIELDS

NUCLEAR PHYSICS

  • Low Background Radiation Laboratory [8]

ATOMIC AND MOLECULAR PHYSICS

ELECTROMAGNETISM, OPTICS AND ACOUSTICS

PHYSICS OF GASES, PLASMAS AND ELECTRICAL DISCHARGES
